An event is the basic unit of data in Nostr. Every post, profile update, reaction, or message is an event with a specific structure containing ID, author, timestamp, kind, content, and signature.
Most Nostr clients have a "copy JSON" or "view raw" option. You can also fetch events directly from relays using this tool or other developer tools.
It confirms that the event was actually signed by the claimed author and hasn't been tampered with. A valid signature proves authenticity and integrity.
Tags add metadata to events. Common uses: tagging other users (@mentions), referencing other events (replies), adding hashtags, or specifying relay hints.
You can inspect the event structure, but the content will be encrypted. Only the sender and recipient can decrypt DM content with their private keys.
Yes! Everything runs in your browser. Event data is analyzed locally and never sent to any server. Your private keys are not needed for inspection.
